Pecan Pie
Day 2 of homemade pies with Pies of July. Quick and easy pecan pie.
Pecan Pie

- 1 Single layer store bought crust
- 2 cups Pecan halves
- 3 Eggs
- 3/4 cup Soft brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp Flour
- 1/4 cup Unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400
- Chop up the majority of the pecans with a large knife. Save a few of the halves for the top of the pie. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together egg and sugars until well combined. Beat in the vanilla, salt, melted butter, and flour.
- Sprinkle the chopped pecans into the pie shell. Pour the filling mixture over them.
- Use the remaining unchopped pecan halves to decorate the top of the pie.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
- Lower oven to 350 degrees and bake an additional 35-40 minutes, or until filling is set.
- Let cool to room temperature before serving.
Notes
If you find the edges of the crust are browning too quickly, you can tent the pie with a piece of aluminum foil.
